PERSONALITY
guileless Once, when asked, “Why bleach your lovely curls?” Molly replied, “I’ve just been hoping someone would mistake me for one of Aunt Fleur’s sprog.” She’s the type to invite herself over and in, steal food from a fridge and intrude on conversations she isn’t a part of if she has something she thinks is pertinent to say. Her gauge of pertinence is not good, by the way. Tactless and a bit of an invasive species, her obnoxiousness is somewhat softened by the fact that she’s so utterly innocent about it. There is no malice in her words or her actions, no calculations, no thought at all.

self-absorbed You would think that someone from such a large and prominent family full of interesting adventurers and heroes would humble someone, but in this case, with Molly, you’d be wrong. Molly is preoccupied with her own ideas, projects and problems, and it takes a lot of effort to get her to recognize that other people have internal lives independent from her own.

perfectionist Despite an apparent lack of interest in social decorum, Molly does hold herself to a high standard in other ways—how else could she justify being as arrogant as she is? She sets exactly goals for herself in everything from daily tasks like makeup to major life decisions like career path, and tends to both get stuck in repeating things until they are just so and being extremely critical of her own work even when it’s perfectly fine. As with many perfectionists, she is also sensitive to outside criticism, but tends to run cold, rather than hot, when criticized by others.

arrogant Like her father before her, and perhaps a bit because of him, she gets tied up in lofty, unobtainable goals and thinks very highly of herself. She frequently confuses opinions for facts, and believes that her advice is the best and most right advice.

curious While she may struggle with thinking of people besides herself, Molly is still very interested in the world around her. She is an eager student and loves to learn all the most boring details about things.

creative Molly has an ear for a good story and a photographer’s eye.

HISTORY
Notable Family Members:
Percy Weasley, father, Head of the Ministry's Department of Magical Transportation. He's pretty much the same Percy Weasley he's always been, folks, with perhaps a small soft spot carved out for his family. Percy may bore them with exacting numbers for broom size regulations, but he also is far more forgiving of Molly's many, many, many faults and mishaps than is perhaps appropriate.

Audrey Stirling (mother, Artificer). Former Ravenclaw Audrey Stirling is a hands on mom who has always been more comfortable with numbers than with people, but was an engaged and soft-hearted mother, nonetheless. She approaches Percy's eccentricities with good humor, and always encourages her daughters' passions.

Assorted Weasleys Molly has a large extended family.

Assorted Stirlings In addition to grandma and grandpa Stirling, there's also two uncles, and a couple of cousins from the youngest.

Hometown: Upton Achendinny, Devonshire. A hamlet of predominantly magical folk not far from Ottery St Catchpole.

History:
early childhood. Though they enjoyed a (relatively) close relationship with the Stirling side of things, Percy never quite fully patched things up with his own family until Audrey caught pregnant. In a rare moment of perspective, he realized just how much having a child changed things, and he reached out, endured a great deal of teasing and torment, and eventually brought his own small family back into the Weasley fold. Molly’s birth played a not insignificant part in the family’s acceptance – her grandmother wanted desperately to meet her, after all.

Molly was adored and doted upon by both parents despite their busy schedules. Adding a second child to the mix had a bumpy start for a then four-year-old Molly. She was not enamored of the big sister fantasy her parents repeatedly tried to paint for her, and it took her a while to warm to a new baby that stole her much beloved attention. Eventually, though, as Lucy was less a blob that just ate and pooped and more an active participant in the things going on around her, Molly grew to enjoy having another person to pester for attention. While Molly and Lucy endured some degree of public scrutiny, it was more for being the children of a high ranking Ministry official. The tabloids weren't terribly interested in the Most Obnoxious, Boring Weasley and his inner life unless it was a means to berating some decision he'd made about maximum knightbus speeds. Largely, pre-Hogwarts, their lives were boring.

at hogwarts. And peri-Hogwarts, things were still quite boring, honestly. Absolutely no one was surprised when Molly Weasley went to Gryffindor, least of all Molly, herself. Excepting that she was more akin to one of her uncles than her own father, Molly set herself on the standard Weasley trajectory of being a huge pain in the ass, exploding onto the scene desperate for attention. She would mellow with each passing year, less needy for attention, but still no less prone to thoughtless behavior.

Pressure from her parents to do well ensured that Molly’s marks were high in all of her classes, but she distinguished herself in Muggle Studies courses, taking particular interest in photography and filmmaking. She would add Quidditch to her roster in her third year, serving as one of Gryffindor’s beaters. Through the middle years of school, Molly traded in the performative attention-grabbing antics for a spot behind the camera, prefering to shoot photos and little movies of herself and her friends. Those middle years of school were rough—Molly is not, by nature, a quick or clever person, but she had developed a reputation for being an overachiever out of a desire to meet her parents expectations. Her moods were stormy, and she was always a little tired, and was well into senioritis at the start of her seventh year.

the film & the fall. Molly’s “short films” were mostly silly things made exclusively for herself and her friends, but as she grew increasingly burnt out on meeting her father’s high standards, she dove further into filmmaking as an outlet. What came of that, late in her seventh year, was a documentary about the extended Weasley clan and their near-celebrity lives. The film caught several embarrassing events both at school and over breaks, and outsider entities took an interest. At last, Molly was creating a bit of celebrity for herself, even if it was at the expense of famous relatives.

Here, things get a little blurry. Was Molly actively trying to profiteer off of her more famous relatives, or was a seventeen-year-old just caught up in the promises of adults trying to take advantage of her? The film circled the wizardy parts of the web for a few months, gaining attention before Molly was approached by a small start up called Adder Stone Pictures, a production company trying to bring magical movies to UK audiences. She was paid handsomely for the distribution rights, and folks started to hum about the young auteur Molly Weasley. Molly bought it hook, line and sinker.

The movie was out for less than a week before it was pulled under a deluge of lawsuits. Molly remained unrepentant, fully buying into the idea that she was telling a truth that needed to be told. Percy, caught between supporting his eldest daughter and the rest of the family, managed to fray relations with both. The documentary was swept under a rug, Molly was forced to issue an apology to her family, and all of the people gushing and gasping about Molly’s promise as a filmmaker abruptly disappeared.

postwarts. She graduated Hogwarts with still excellent marks and a considerable chip on her shoulder, going off from her family and trying to pursue an honest filmmaking career. Unfortunately for Molly, the demand isn’t there among British wizards, and the reaction around her once lauded documentary made her a little bit radioactive to anyone who might’ve worked with her seriously. So, post-Hogwarts, despite her more than adequate NEWT performance, Molly jumped from menial job to menial job making things on the side.

An invitation to Henhurts Hall seemed like a grand opportunity for Molly, and though she is somewhat reticent to pull out the camera with so much of her family in residence, what the hell else is she living there for??
